The Mark Two is a carbon-fiber inlay 3D Printer, meaning it has a regular filament nozzle, plus a spool of carbon fiber that is layed down in the filament as a reinforcement. Users can control how much and on what layers they want this reinforcement thorugh the Markforged slicer, Eiger.io.
Please be aware: As this printer is significantly more involved than our other printers, members are not allowed to self-load filament - instead they must pay Hacker Lab for filament used (Eiger.io will tell you the cost of the print during the slicing process). -

The most used piece of equipment at the Hacker Lab by far. Can easily handle up to 1/4" Plywood or Acrylic, and has been known to get through thicker material in the right conditions. Custom board games, edge lit acrylic plaques, signs, sewing templates, and miscellaneous boxes/enclosures are just a few of the fantastic things that are made with this piece of equipment. Has been through many parts, and recently through a complete rebuild (make sure to thank John for his awesome work!)
